Please join Bay Area Council Government Relations Committee Co-Chair Peter Brightbill, Senior Vice President, Wells Fargo and Company, and Jim Wunderman, President and CEO, Bay Area Council for a Government Relations Committee meeting featuring California State Senator Josh Newman. The Senator will share his perspective and legislative agenda on key statewide issues such as transportation funding, increasing the housing supply and building a skilled workforce.

Senator Josh Newman is serving his first term in the California State Senate. He was elected in November of 2016 to represent the 29th State Senate District which includes Senate District 29 is comprised of portions of Los Angeles County, Orange County and San Bernardino County. Senator Newman played a pivotal role in the passage SB 1. This legislation will generate over $52 billion to repair our roads and transportation infrastructure. Unfortunately, opponents of SB1 have decided to target and recall Senator Newman for his brave vote on this bill.

In the State Senate, he chairs the Senate Committee on Veterans Affairs. He also sits on the Business and Professions, Health, Insurance and Human Services Committees. Prior to serving in the State Senate, he served as an aide to San Francisco Mayor Frank Jordan and served as the founder and Executive Director of ArmedForce2Workforce.
